Genetic and Pharmacotherapy: Russian Market Reality
Company "GENE" took part in the V Congress Rational Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacology Congress, which took place in Petersburg on October, 13th and 14th. Innovative diagnostic kits "PharmacoGEN-AKG" and “PharmacoGEN-SLC6A4" were presented during the Congress. These products are unique for the Russian market and belong to the new part in molecular-genetic diagnostic called pharmacogenomics. The kit "PharmacoGEN-AKG" is intended for fast and qualitative definition of polymorphism of genes, associated with individual hypersensitivity to oral anticoagulants and occurrence of life-threatening bleedings. The definition of polymorphism of these genes allows choosing optimal dose of oral anticoagulants and decreasing mortal bleedings probability. Another diagnostic kit "PharmacoGEN-SLC6A4" is intended for the detection of polymorphisms of SLC6A4 gene associated with depression development. Also "PharmacoGEN-SLC6A4" can be used for the definition of individual sensitivity to antidepressants.
