At the end of the outgoing year Alkor Bio Group has launched 23 new allergens and summed up the year in this sector.

In 2014 the Laboratory of Allergology of Alkor Bio Group has developed and transferred to the production 128 new allergens and allergen mixtures, including four allergen components for in vitro allergy diagnostics. Thus, today there are 420 positions in the allergy diagnostics direction of Alkor Bio Group. This year the volume of allergens production has increased by 16%, and the bestsellers are food allergens, epidermal, mites, as the most popular in clinical practice. Sales geography of allergens of Alkor Bio Group production is all over regions of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Turkey and others.

Among the latest innovations there are six ones, which belong to the group of professional allergens, they are jute, isocyanate TDI, isocyanate MDI, trimellitic anhydride, papain, phospholipase. So, now this group contains 21 allergens.

It is also worth noting the two allergen components - native, they are extracted from natural raw materials, an allergen component of egg protein nGal d 3 Konalbumin (ovotransferrin) and recombinant birch pollen allergen rBet v 2 Birch (Betula verrucosa). All in all, currently Alkor Bio Group produces 8 allergen components, so it is the only enterprise in Russia which began to develop and manufacture allergen components for mass use in in vitro allergen diagnostics.

" In 2015, we plan to continue expanding the range of allergens, at least 100 positions. Particular attention will be paid to professional allergens. Application of a variety of food additives, preservatives, dyes, solvents, etc., widely used in the food and pharmaceutical and light industry, creates additional risk of allergic reaction to these components.

With regard to drug allergy, in my opinion, it is one of the most difficult areas in allergy diagnostics. Therefore, we plan to not only expand the range of medicinal allergens, but also to continue developing of the new test for the drug allergy diagnosis, started in 2014 ".

Allergens are used in conjunction with a test system for the diagnosis of allergy, produced by Alkor Bio: a set of "AllergoIFA-specific IgE», intended for the quantitative determination of specific IgE in human serum by enzyme immunoassay.

The high specificity of this assay system makes more accurate diagnosis of allergy, which, in its turn, allows choosing an effective therapy for each patient. Using this test system, the method in vitro (outside of a living organism), it is possible to check the patient's sensitization to allergens of all basic groups (food, pollen, fungus, mite, medicines and etc.). The test system for the diagnosis of allergy and all allergens of Alkor Bio Group production are registered in Roszdravnadzor and have received CE-mark.
